City of Sydney Council draft code of meeting practice

City of Sydney Council draft code of meeting practice

Under review

Contributions to this consultation are closed for evaluation and review. The project team will report back on key outcomes.

We invite your feedback on a draft code of meeting practice for the City of Sydney Council.

The draft code ensures all meetings of council and its committees are orderly, efficient and take place according to the principles of procedural fairness and due process.

It ensures all councillors understand their rights and obligations when taking part in these meetings and have an equal opportunity to participate, with respect given for differing views.

The draft code also ensures proceedings are clear and transparent to people observing and taking part in these meetings.

A council and its committees, where all the members are councillors, must follow the code of meeting practice adopted by the council.

How you can give feedback
