Improving Beaconsfield Park, Beaconsfield

Improving Beaconsfield Park, Beaconsfield

Project updates

Find out more about the Beaconsfield Park upgrade.

Project details

We plan to upgrade the playground at Beaconsfield Park in Beaconsfield and invite your feedback on the proposed design.

Over the next 10 years, we will upgrade more than 60 parks across the City of Sydney area, from small pocket parks to larger local parks.

Quality green open spaces are a high priority for our residents, workers and visitors. These park upgrades will create better quality open spaces for everyone to enjoy, help keep our city cooler, and support biodiversity in our local areas.

The proposal for Beaconsfield Park will:

  • maintain the open grass and protect mature trees
  • provide a new accessible ramp into the park from William Street and new park entries from William and Queen streets
  • add a new barbecue, seating and picnic settings
  • replace existing playground equipment with a double swing, skating slope, scooter track, balance beams and play structure including slides, shop front and climbing nets
  • provide a new shade structure, fence, sitting wall and seating
  • provide new trees and plants.

To improve accessibility and sight lines in the park, we need to remove 9 trees. These will be replaced with 14 new feature trees that will provide improved shade and tree canopy around the playground perimeter.
