Improving Kings Lane Reserve, Darlinghurst

Improving Kings Lane Reserve, Darlinghurst

Council approved the proposed design noting some changes will be made in the design development phase in line with community feedback. Works are expected to be completed in mid-2020.

We plan to upgrade Kings Lane Reserve in Darlinghurst and invite your feedback on the proposed design.

Over the next 10 years, we will be upgrading more than 60 parks across the City of Sydney area, from small pocket parks to larger local parks.

Quality green open spaces are a high priority for our residents, workers and visitors. These park upgrades will create better quality open spaces for everyone to enjoy, help keep our city cooler, and support biodiversity in our local areas.

The proposal for Kings Lane Reserve includes:

  • a new sandstone clad retaining wall to replace existing wall
  • wider steps in line with opposite laneway, including handrails and lighting
  • new paving
  • new mass planting in the garden beds.

We will remove 4 trees to reduce structural impacts on the wall and improve safety and sight lines in the lane.

If your property is adjacent to the reserve, you can contact Helen Rogers, Design Manager to arrange an on-site meeting.
