What we’re doing

Quality green open spaces are a priority for our residents, workers and visitors. These park upgrades will create better quality open spaces for everyone to enjoy, help keep our city cooler, and support biodiversity in our local areas.

The proposal for Minogue Crescent Reserve includes:

  • stair-free access path to the playground
  • a new play area with a nest swing, slide mound and nature play areas
  • better turf, more native plants and new trees
  • new formal and informal seating in both the sun and shade
  • a wider footpath on Minogue Crescent
  • an improved boundary with the Police Citizens Youth Club.

To accommodate these improvements, we need to relocate 5 small liriodendron tulipifera trees within the park. A total of 11 new trees (plus 5 relocated trees) will be planted as part of these works, increasing overall canopy cover in the park in line with our tree canopy targets.
