Planning our future: community sessions – hearing from you

Planning our future: community sessions – hearing from you

While 2050 may seem a long time away, we need to plan now if we are to meet the needs of our ongoing and future communities.

More than a decade ago, we worked with our communities to create a plan for a green, global and connected city.

Sustainable Sydney 2030 underpins our actions on climate change, our support for local businesses, our work on parks, playgrounds and cycleways, and our dedication to supporting the city’s creative and cultural life.

Looking beyond 2030

Now, it’s time for us to plan beyond 2030. Next year, we’ll start an extensive community consultation program for everyone who lives, works and studies in or visits our city. This will help us develop our new community strategic plan – Sustainable Sydney 2050.

To prepare for this we are holding 4 community sessions in 2018. Join us and let us know what’s on your mind for the future of your local area.

  • Tuesday 13 November 2018 6pm–7.30pm
Redfern Town Hall, 73 Pitt Street, Redfern
  • Tuesday 20 November 2018 6pm–7.30pm

Please note, each event is limited to 100 people.

The community sessions will be an opportunity to share your thoughts about your local area with the Lord Mayor and Councillors.

The community sessions will also involve consultation activities that will:

  • help inform our local planning statements, which we are required to prepare by the NSW Government
  • help us understand the local services our community values.
