Proposed changes to planning controls for 12–22 & 24 Rothschild Avenue, Rosebery

Proposed changes to planning controls for 12–22 & 24 Rothschild Avenue, Rosebery

Open

This consultation is open for contributions.

We invite your feedback on proposed changes to the planning controls for 12–22 and 24 Rothschild Avenue, Rosebery.

The proposed changes will preserve the existing heritage building at 24 Rothschild Avenue. It will also allow for:

  • around 208 new apartments in 2 new buildings
  • completion of a through-site link to Mentmore Avenue
  • a new pedestrian connection next to the heritage warehouse
  • more than 2,000sqm of commercial and retail floor space.

The proposal seeks to amend the maximum building height at 12–22 Rothschild Avenue from 6 storeys to a maximum 9 storeys. It redistributes floor-space ratio (density) across the sites but does not change the existing zoning.

The documents on public exhibition include a planning proposal to amend the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012 and Sydney Development Control Plan 2012.

After the exhibition period, we will consider all submissions and report the results to Council and the Central Sydney Planning Committee.
