Reconciliation Park: new community garden

Under review

Contributions to this consultation are closed for evaluation and review. The project team will report back on key outcomes.

We invite your feedback on a proposal for a new community garden in Redfern where locals will enjoy gardening and growing edible herbs and vegetables.

The proposed garden will be 150 square metres in size and located at Reconciliation Park on George Street, Redfern.

View the layout for the garden design.

The garden will include:

  • raised beds for growing vegetables, flowers and herbs
  • areas for bush tucker plants
  • green waste recycling with composting and worm farms
  • a toolshed for storing tools, mulch and hoses.

A community garden group has developed a management plan and garden design to guide maintaining the garden. The plan details how the group will engage with local residents who would like to join the community garden.
