Sweetacres Park: off-leash areas for dogs

Sweetacres Park: off-leash areas for dogs

Open

This consultation is open for contributions.

We invite your feedback on our proposal to make the lawn areas of Sweetacres Park off-leash for dogs. We have developed this proposal in response to community requests.

Sweetacres Park, located at 26 Rothschild Avenue, Rosebery, includes a central playground, barbecue and picnic facilities, lawns and garden areas. We propose to allow dogs to be off-leash at all times on the lawn areas. Dogs would still be prohibited in the barbecue, picnic and playground areas.

We will update the park signs so it is clear which areas of the park are off-leash and which are dog prohibited.

This proposal is part of the City’s work with our communities to promote responsible dog ownership and ensure parks remain accessible, safe and clean. This work is informed by our companion animals policy.
