Wider median strip and more trees on Jones Bay Road, Pyrmont

This consultation is open for contributions.

We invite your feedback on a proposal to widen the existing central median strip and plant trees on Jones Bay Road, Pyrmont near Pyrmont Street.

This proposal will help keep our streets cool and reduce the urban heat island effect. Under this proposal, we will plant Simon poplar trees that will provide shade and make the street more pleasant for residents and visitors. These trees are deciduous and will allow sunlight during winter.

The widened median and narrowed traffic lanes will also improve safety by reducing vehicle speeds.

There are no planned changes to parking.

Covid-19 response

We’re changing how we consult and connect with our communities in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

We know our residents, workers and visitors are focused on social distancing and health and wellbeing, and many are experiencing economic stress.

While how we consult with you may look a little different, we still want to hear from you and provide plenty of opportunities to have your say on the projects and programs that affect you.
