Changes to City of Sydney services due to Covid-19

We’ve taken precautionary measures following the recent increase in Covid-19 cases across Sydney.

The safety of our communities, customers and employees is our top priority

Last updated: 5pm, 18 July

In line with NSW Health restrictions and stay at home orders, changes to services in our local area will come into place from 5pm on Friday 25 June until midnight on Friday 30 July.

  • Our pools, libraries, community centres, gyms, customer and neighbourhood service centres will close.
  • Sydney Town Hall, Customs House and Town Hall House will also be closed to the public
  • Venues for hire are closed and anyone with a booking will be contacted.

Childcare, after school care and vacation care will remain open, however there may be some reduction in services available. Our Meals on Wheels and homelessness services will continue to operate.

Essential City of Sydney services, such as waste collection, will continue as normal.

At this time City of Sydney parks, playgrounds and outdoor fitness stations will remain open for use in line with directions issued by NSW Health. We will implement additional cleaning for our playgrounds and fitness stations.

Construction and non-essential maintenance will be stopped from Monday 19 July until Friday 30 July to comply with the latest NSW Government Public Health Orders.

Our community hotline offers support during the Covid-19 pandemic Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Trained staff can advise about coronavirus issues, including isolation and personal wellbeing, and access to food and finance.

Contact City of Sydney customer service 7 days a week on 02 9265 9333 for advice on non-emergency and non-medical information or for referral to other services.
