Extension of development consents

A 2-year extension has been granted for development consents that expire from 25 March 2020 to 25 March 2022.

This is in line with amendments to section 4.53 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, made by the Covid-19 Legislation (Emergency Measures - Miscellaneous) Act 2020.

From the past to the present

The City of Sydney pursues a sensitive and balanced approach to development that protects residential amenity and the environment, preserves heritage and provides clarity for developers.

On exhibition

Some development applications (DAs) and footway usage applications (FAs) are placed on public exhibition before they are determined by the City. You can locate DAs or FAs on exhibition.

Development application search

Find a development or footway usage application and track its progress. It includes consent modifications and decision reviews on DAs.

Please note: Documentation submitted with an application, such as plans and statements of environmental effects, is only accessible online while it is on exhibition.

Standards variations register

When variations have been made to development standards while the City determines particular DAs we must make this information available to the public.

How DAs are assessed

Find out what we are required to do by law and the process of assessment that is involved when the City makes determinations on DAs.

Development information can be found in the City monitors.

Comments and objections

If you wish to comment on or object to a DA, find out what you need to do to have your concerns considered by the City while the application is being assessed.

Archived development applications

This collection includes development and building applications and related records. Only those records that have been transferred to the City archives are available through this site.
