SydLunar community performance program

Expressions of interest

Do you want to perform as part of the Sydney Lunar Festival? We're inviting performers to be part of the community performance program to help us celebrate the Year of the Rat in 2020.

To be part of the official festival program, groups must specialise in highly choreographed performances (traditional and contemporary).

Your group or performance must celebrate the Lunar New Year, celebrate one of the cultures that observe the Lunar New Year or celebrate the Year of the Rat.

Opportunities are available for different types of performances either on a stage or as a roving performance.

Submit your expression of interest now!

Applications close on Sunday 15 September 2019.

Message from the festival curator

The Sydney Lunar Festival is one of the biggest events on the City of Sydney’s calendar. Next year is the Year of the Rat and we’d like to invite performers who are passionate about sharing their culture and heritage. If you feel you can bring your unique stories to life with your performance group, we’d love to hear from you.

We would love to include performers who are passionate about sharing their culture. If you feel you can bring your unique stories to life with your performance group, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the artistic and cultural talents of your group as a highlight of the festival program. You will be part of a festival that attracts over 1.4 million people set in one of the world’s most iconic cities.

These cultural performances are widely embraced by Sydney-siders and are a celebration of colour and energy! So we’re looking for people with passion, commitment and a genuine desire to share their cultural traditions with the wider community.

We look forward to receiving your submission.
