Welcome murals for early childhood centres

Welcome murals for early childhood centres

Expression of interest

We’re inviting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander artists or artist-led teams to submit proposals for welcome murals at 4 early childcare centres.

The artworks will recognise the significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and help promote reconciliation and inclusion.

The welcome murals will be installed at outdoor entry points to 4 early childhood centres:

  • Hilda Booler Kindergarten and Broughton Street Kindergarten in Glebe
  • Redfern Occasional Child Care Centre
  • Alexandria Child Care Centre.

We’re looking for contemporary artworks that share and interweave stories of the past and present with the hopes and aspirations of young Aboriginal people today.

Selected artists will collaborate with the centre, its children and families, and the community to create a meaningful, locally significant public artwork.

Expressions of interest close at midnight (Sydney time) on Wednesday 30 October 2019.
