In this fun after-school workshop, kids will learn the fundamentals of ceramic wheel-throwing and hand-building.

Under the guidance of our experienced tutor, students will experiment with different hand-building techniques including slab, coil, and slurry joining using white raku clay. They’ll also get experience using the potter’s wheel to make simple cylindrical forms, bowls and plates.

To complete their projects, they’ll learn through experimentation with surface treatments like sgraffito brushing on clay slips and glazes.

This is a great course for students to get a good understanding of the properties and limits of the materials and ideas and thoughts behind the creative process.

This workshop is designed for complete beginners as well as kids with some experience who are looking to improve their skills and gain a solid foundation in hand-building and wheel-throwing.

Works will be fired and ready to collect approximately 4 weeks after the workshop.
