New parking policy

A new parking policy is being rolled out progressively across the City over 12 months from August 2014.

What changes with the new parking policy?

  • Existing annual visitor permits will be phased out after 12 May 2016 – residents who hold these permits can renew them until that time, after which time the household will revert to the daily scheme (see visitor parking permits or new parking policy for more information).

  • Eligible households and businesses can apply for the new Area 16 visitor and business parking permits from 8 September 2014.
  • Existing annual visitor parking permits will be phased out after 12 May 2016.
