The Summit

In the heart of the city, opposite World Tower and World Square, The Summit comprises 33 storeys, 335 apartments, 10 retail units and 5 commercial suites. 

What they did

  • installed variable speed drives
  • completed the WaterFix program 
  • installed a charity textile bin in the car park. 

Results

  • Energy – Saving $27,000 a year on energy bills
  • Water – Saving $61,000 (30,000 kl) a year on water        bills
  • Clothing – Diverted 3 tonnes of textiles from landfill in 5        months

The-Peak

The Peak

The Peak is a 42-level residential tower comprising 370 apartments above Paddy’s Market and Market City.

What they did

  • upgraded lighting in the fire stairwells and common areas
  • optimised existing systems using variable speed drives
  • installed motion sensors to control air-conditioning in gyms and other shared facilities.

Results

  • Energy – Saving $82,000 (30%) a year on energy bills

Windsor on Kent

A short stroll from the Queen Victoria Building, Windsor on Kent comprises a mix of apartments, commercial offices and retail spaces.

What they did

  • installed variable speed drives on car park exhaust fans, supply fans and the cooling tower condenser water pumps
  • tuned temperature control systems. 

Results

  • Energy – Saving $20,000 (20%) a year on energy bills
 
Windsor-on-Kent
Regis-Towers

Regis Towers

Completed in 1998, Regis Towers is one of the largest mixed used complexes in Australia. The 3 towers on Pitt, Castlereagh and Campbell streets include 545 residential apartments and 139 serviced apartments.

What they did

  • installed variable speed drives on motors and fans
  • adjusted settings on timers and sensors
  • installed data portal provided by the Smart Green Apartments program to help them identify and respond to leaks quickly.

Results

  • Energy – Saving $94,000 (37%) a year on energy       bills
  • Water – Saving $35,000 a year on water bills

Pullman Quay Grand

Overlooking Sydney Harbour, Pullman Quay Grand comprises 15 levels of residential apartments, a hotel and retail space.

What they did

  • installed 99 kW solar panel system
  • system comprises 350 solar panels
  • utilised small scale technology certificates.

  • Energy– The solar system supplies 10% of the building’s
           common area electricity
  • Energy – Saving $20,000 a year on bills
  • Savings – Pay back in less than 5 years
