Installing a basketball hoop and hardcourt at Federal Park, Annandale

Works started in September 2026 and will take 2 months to complete, weather permitting.

What we’re doing

The works include:

  • a basketball hoop and hardcourt. We’ll use a specialised backboard and court tile surface, both designed to absorb impact and reduce noise
  • new seating
  • new trees
  • new basketball court lights to follow the same schedule as the skate park lights, switching off at 9pm.

Why we’re doing this

Our open space, sports and recreation needs study found a shortfall in facilities and highlighted the need for new ones. We want to provide quality public spaces and have received community requests to provide a basketball hoop in the area. Our concept plan was based on your feedback.
