We’re reviewing submissions for the upgrade works. Construction is expected to start in late 2026.
What we’re doing
We plan to upgrade Ward Park in Surry Hills.
The park has a colourful history and is named after Eddie Ward, a former City of Sydney alderman and firebrand member of NSW Parliament.
Works include:
- new and improved playground
- improved park furniture and signs
- improved lighting
- upgraded pathways for better accessibility.
Why we’re doing this
Ward Park was identified for upgrading as part of our park renewal program.
Based on your feedback from our consultation in 2024, we developed a concept design for the space. The project was approved by Council in June 2025.
