The proposed changes will provide additional floor space and building height if more social housing is provided and sustainability targets are met.
The site currently includes 19 social housing residences. The proposed changes will enable development for 35 new social housing dwellings and 39 private dwellings in 2 eight-storey buildings and 5 three-storey terraces fronting Mitchell Lane East and MJ Doherty Reserve. As part of the proposed redevelopment, social housing will be redeveloped and reinstated in the new development. NSW Land and Housing Corporation will manage the delivery of the new social housing.
After this public consultation, the City of Sydney will consider all submissions and report the results to Council and the Central Sydney Planning Committee.
If Council approves the planning proposal, it can amend the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012 on behalf of the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces.
Consultation closes at 5pm on Monday 14 December 2020.
The consultation closing date has been extended from Monday 7 December 2020.
