Notice

Council and the Central Sydney Planning Committee approved an amendment to the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012 as it applies to 92–98 Brougham Street, Potts Point on 17 May 2021 and 13 May 2021. View the Council meeting papers.

The amendment is the result of a planning proposal to change the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012. It came into effect on Friday 25 June 2021 when it was notified on the NSW Legislation website.

The LEP amendment will add hotel and motel accommodation as additional permitted uses for the sites at 92–98 Brougham Street, Potts Point. This will enable a future development application to be lodged and assessed for a hotel connected to the Piccadilly Hotel adjoining the sites on Victoria Street, Potts Point.

What we’re doing

We invite feedback on a request to permit hotel accommodation at 92–98 Brougham Street, Potts Point.

This site is part of an adjoining development site that includes 2 properties at 169 and 172 Victoria Street. One of these properties is the heritage listed Piccadilly Hotel, which is now vacant.

Including a hotel use on the 92–98 Brougham Street site will allow a future hotel proposal to cover the complete development site.

The exhibition includes a planning proposal to amend the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012.
