Your say on the proposed design for Goddard Playground
We invite your feedback on the future of the public space in Newtown
Open for feedback
What we’re doing
We plan to upgrade Goddard Playground on O’Connell Street, Newtown.
Last year, we asked our communities how they want to use this space. This feedback has helped us develop our proposed design which includes:
- an upgraded playground
- new rubber and synthetic turf softfall surfaces
- new nature play area
- an accessible entrance into the play area
- upgraded seating and water fountain and a new bin
- improved garden and turf areas.
All existing mature trees in the park will be protected during the work.
Why we’re doing this
Over the next 10 years, we’ll upgrade more than 60 parks in our area, from small pocket parks to larger local parks.
We’re asking for feedback from local community groups and residents on the concept design. Tell us how you use the space, what works, what doesn’t and share any ideas you have for its future.
How you can give feedback
Consultation closes at 5pm on Monday 18 May 2026.
