What we’re doing
We plan to upgrade South Sydney Rotary Park Playground in Eveleigh. Homes NSW previously owned this park, which was transferred to the City of Sydney in February.
For safety reasons the playground has been partly closed for some time. Now we manage the land, we plan to replace the playground later this year. Our proposed design includes:
- new playground equipment with a play tower, monkey bars and a climbing net
- new seating in the play area
- a path to connect to the new playground
- retaining and protecting all existing mature trees.
We plan to relocate the playground to improve access and visibility from surrounding streets.
Next steps
This playground upgrade is a temporary step to enable residents to use the park again sooner.
We’ll soon start planning for a wider park upgrade, which we expect to take place in the next 5 years. We’ll consult the community about how we can improve the wider park area in the future.
How you can give feedback
Consultation closes at 5pm on Monday 29 June 2026.
