Navins & Portman lanes & Merton Street improvements

Improving access and safety

We have started improvement works to Navins Lane, Portman Lane and Merton Street, Zetland. The works will increase pedestrian, bike and public transport access while improving safety and greening the streets.

The works include:

  • installing a new shared zone
  • new concrete footpath
  • new garden beds
  • resurfacing the road
  • fixing damaged kerbs and gutters
  • street printing and linemarking
  • street furniture.

The works started in November 2017 and are expected to be completed in mid 2018, weather permitting.

The City's contractor, Sydney Civil will carry out the works from 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 7.30am to 3.30pm on Saturday.

We will take steps to minimise any impacts on local residents and business owners. However, there will be some machinery noise, temporary parking restrictions and alternative access for people walking.
