Affordable housing

As Green Square undergoes significant gentrification, the City is committed to making 7.5% of all new housing affordable.

Affordable housing will be available for low-income workers in the community so they can live close to where they work.

To provide housing for a mix of income groups, private developers are required to make a contribution to the City’s affordable housing levy.

A developer may choose to provide affordable housing on-site or pay an equivalent monetary contribution to allow housing units to be built elsewhere in Green Square.
