Improving William and Queen streets, Beaconsfield
Project Status: Completed
Works started in January 2024 and were completed in June 2024.
What we’re doing
We’re planting more trees, increasing parking spaces, and installing traffic islands and landscaped median strips.
Works include:
- extending angle parking along Queen Street and installing new angle parking on William Street, increasing the number of parking spaces on both streets
- installing landscaped traffic islands between the new angle parking bays and raised landscape median strips
- planting around 43 new trees in the new median strips and traffic islands.
Steps will be taken to minimise impacts on you. There will be some machinery noise and dust. Temporary changes to the traffic flow and parking will allow access for construction materials and equipment.
Our contractor QMC Group will carry out the works.
Why we’re doing this
This is part of our work to keep our streets cool and safe for walking.
Following community feedback, Council approved this proposal.
More parking will become available as works are completed.
