What we’re doing
We’re looking for people who ride to help assess the safety and comfort of our bike network, as part of a project funded by iMOVE.
During a 12-month survey, we’ll give 200 people a See.Sense smart bike light, with technology to collect real-time ride data including swerving, braking and road quality.
This data will show us where people ride, where risks are high and the road surface conditions, which could help inform future policy planning and infrastructure improvements.
Your commitment
- If selected to take part, pay $10 for bike light postage.
- Attach the smart bike light to your bike as you ride in our area.
- Download the See.Sense app, join the project and enable ride recording permissions.
- Choose to make reports in the app about things that can be improved.
What you can expect
Participants will receive:
- a smart bike light, which has a retail value of $240
- access to personalised monthly ride summaries
- the opportunity to directly contribute to improving cycling in the City of Sydney area.
Privacy and data use
We only get a summary of your data, without any personal details. No individual journey data or personally identifiable information is ever shared with us. You can set privacy zones around your home or other sensitive locations – no data is collected in these zones.
Selection criteria
We’re looking for people who reflect our communities and ride in key areas. Participants will be selected based on location, demographics and willingness to download the app and use the bike light on their rides
