Construction of the Bourke Street connector
The shared cycling path is a critical link for this rapidly growing part of inner Sydney.

All works have been completed.
What we’re doing
Bourke Street, Waterloo is part of a popular bike route between the city and Botany Bay, used by hundreds of people who ride each day.
The new and existing shared path was upgraded to connect the Bourke Street and Bourke Road cycleways, and provide a 7km north–south corridor from Mascot to Woolloomooloo.
The 1.5km upgrade between Phillip Street, Redfern and Botany Road, Green Square included wider footpaths, improved street lighting, new garden beds and bus shelters, extra seating and bike parking, and signs to remind people to ride slowly.
