Laser cutting and 3D printing services

Conditions of use 

  • The library’s 3D printer is available for use by library customers and program participants.
  • The 3D printer and laser cutter can only be used for lawful and appropriate purposes. You must not use the 3D printer or laser cutter to create material that is:

- prohibited by state or federal law
- unsafe, harmful, dangerous or poses an actual or perceived threat to the wellbeing of others
- obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the library environment (see definitions).

  • The library’s 3D printer and laser cutter must not be used to reproduce material that is subject to copyright, patent or trademark protection or in violation of any intellectual property rights.
  • The library reserves the right to refuse any 3D printing or laser cut request.
  • Fees for each printed item vary and payment is due at time of collection. You can see the latest schedule of fees at library branches and the City of Sydney website. The City of Sydney Library only provides refunds if there is an equipment failure.
  • You must collect items from library’s 3D printer and the laser cutter during library opening hours. Please collect them within 30 days. After this, these items become property of City of Sydney Library.
  • The library may suspend a membership or remove access to makerspace services if a member breaches this procedure.
