Improving Hollis Park Playground, Newtown

Improving Hollis Park Playground, Newtown

Project updates

Find out more about the Hollis Park upgrade.

Project details

We plan to upgrade the playground at Hollis Park in Newtown and invite your feedback on the proposed design.

Over the next 10 years, we will upgrade more than 60 parks across the City of Sydney area, from small pocket parks to larger local parks.

Quality green open spaces are a priority for our residents, workers and visitors. These park upgrades will create better quality open spaces for everyone to enjoy, help keep our city cooler, and support biodiversity in our local areas.

The proposal for Hollis Park will:

  • create a new fenced play area
  • provide new play structures for climbing, scrambling, sliding and swinging
  • install a sandpit and a sandstone fort for creative play
  • include planting in the playspace to provide a sensory play experience
  • create a new scooter challenge course
  • provide new seating, tables and a small lawn area
  • increase shade and improve access.
