Bowman Street, Pyrmont: new trees and footpath repair works

We made the area more appealing for walking and replaced most of the figs with Sydney red gums.

Project Status: Completed

Improving local streets

We have completed works to improve the Bowman Street footpath and replace most of the fig trees with Sydney red gums in new locations.

The fig trees were planted by the state government in the early 2000s before we became responsible for the street.
We repaired the damaged areas of the footpath and a more appropriate type of tree has been provided following community concerns.
The work included:

  • removing 26 fig trees and planting 26 Sydney red gum trees in new locations
  • repairing the footpaths, kerbs and gutter
  • new stormwater drains and garden beds.
