Improvement works on Bunn Street, Pyrmont

We’re improving safety and making the street more pleasant for residents and visitors.

Project Status: Completed

What we’re doing

We’ll widen the footpaths, plant trees and install a central median strip at the Pyrmont Street end of Bunn Street in Pyrmont.

We’ll plant 7 new brush box (Lophostemon confertus) trees to provide shade and make the street more pleasant for residents and visitors.

We’ll also improve safety by reducing the distance for people to cross Bunn Street and by slowing vehicles at the intersection.

Our contractors QMC Group will carry out the works. There are no changes to parking and access to all driveways will be maintained.

We will take steps to minimise impacts but there will be some machinery noise and dust. There will also be temporary changes to the traffic flow to allow access for construction materials and equipment.

This project is part of the Greening Our City grant program funded by the NSW Government in association with Local Government NSW.

Works include kerb extensions, new asphalt and plants on the corners of the Bunn Street, Pyrmont Street and Gipps Street intersection. A new median strip from near the corner of Harwood Street to Pyrmont Street, where 6 of the new trees will be planted. The 7th tree will be planted on the corner of Pyrmont Street on the northern side of Bunn Street.
