Improving local streets
The improvements to Missenden Road between Parramatta Road and King Street have created more space for walking and safer connections to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, University of Sydney and King Street's retail and entertainment precinct.The works included:
- all paved areas, concrete pavement and concrete pavers
- footpath extensions
- new garden beds
- signalled traffic intersections at Carillon Avenue and Salisbury Road
- road resurfacing and line marking, including bike lanes
- improved street furniture, including new bins, seating, bus shelters and a water bubbler.
Adjustments to telecommunication service pits were also made.
