Improving Regent Street Reserve, Paddington

We’re upgrading this neighbourhood green space for everyone to enjoy.

Planned

What we’re doing

We’ll plant a black wattle tree, an attractive species that can grow up to 10m.

The large established trees will be maintained. In the area next to Regent Street, we’ll remove 2 small trees and replace them with shrubs which will provide a privacy screen and improve sight lines and safety throughout the park.

We’ll also add new plants to the existing garden beds.

Other works include:

  • upgrading the pathways
  • raising the lawn to improve the turf and encourage use of the pathways
  • installing new sandstone seating walls and retaining the existing sandstone walls
  • adding new furniture including bench seats, water bubbler with dog bowl and 1 bin with dog bag dispenser
  • improving lighting through to Regent Street.

Why we’re doing this

We developed a concept plan for the upgrade based on your feedback from late 2023. The design was modified and in early 2024 we asked for your comments. We used this feedback to refine the design, which Council approved in June 2024.
