What we’re doing

We launched a 6-month trial of lighting in Joynton Park in April 2022 in response to community requests.

We installed 5 solar powered light towers to extend the usable hours of the park during winter, and to make it safe and enjoyable for everyone. The lights were turned on from 5pm to 10pm, in line with our other parks.

The temporary lighting will be removed in early October to let us schedule returfing works in the park. We’ve scheduled this work to coincide with daylight saving time to allow for more use of the park once the temporary lights are removed.

Next steps

Your feedback will help us decide if we should plan for more permanent lighting in the park. We will keep you updated on the progress of this project.
