Project Status: Under review
What we’re doing
We’re planning to plant new trees within the roadway in Lodge Street and at the intersection with Arundel Street.
The proposal includes:
- a landscaped median strip with 3 large canopy trees and new plantings, similar to the landscaped median strip we installed in Boyce Street, Glebe.
- extending the kerbs on both corners of the intersection of Lodge and Arundel streets. This will include 2 large canopy trees in Arundel Street and new plantings.
Why we’re doing this
This project will help keep our streets cool and reduce the urban heat island effect. It will also improve safety for people walking by reducing the crossing distance at the intersection of Lodge and Arundel streets.
We’ll report all feedback and design changes to Council continue to a detailed design. We’ll keep you updated on the progress of this project.
