Your say on the proposed design for the Young Street pocket park, Redfern
Open for feedback
What we’re doing
We plan to upgrade the Young Street pocket park in Redfern.
Last year, we asked the community how they want to use this space. This feedback has helped us develop our proposed design for the Young Street pocket park, which includes:
- improved lighting
- increased lawn area
- new shrub and groundcover plantings
- more seats, including low seating and barrier wall.
One hedge row will be removed and the other lowered to improve sightlines and safety. All trees in the park will be protected during the works. Your feedback will help us develop the concept design.
Why we are doing this
Over the next 10 years, we’ll upgrade more than 60 parks in our area, from small pocket parks to larger local parks.
We’re asking for feedback from local community groups and residents on the concept design. Tell us how you use the space, what works, what doesn’t and share any ideas you have for its future.
How you can give feedback
Consultation closes at 5pm on Monday 22 December 2025.
