Book a sportsfield
Play your favourite game on one of our many grounds.
At least $7.50 – you will be invoiced for any sportsfield hire fees and lighting fees payable.
When you need to do this
Bookings are required for any sport, training or fitness activities conducted on a City of Sydney sportsfield or oval.
Public recreational use of park spaces that are not sportsfields or ovals generally do not need to be reserved or approved for unorganised sport.

Determine your booking type
Bookings will fall into one of these categories:
- Casual: for occasional or one-off use
- Seasonal: for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks or fortnights over the summer or winter sports seasons.

Application lead times
Seasonal sports
- Minimum lead time of 40 working days (8 weeks) before first proposed booking date
- Minor revisions may be accepted up to 10 working days (2 weeks) before a season begins
Casual, ad hoc and non-commercial community sports
- Minimum lead time of 5 working days (one week) before first proposed booking date
- Late applications may be accepted at the discretion of bookings officers
After you finish
You’ll hear from a member of our team regarding your application. If the sports field you've applied for is available and suitable, you’ll receive an invoice for any fees payable.
Once fees have been paid, you’ll receive written approval to proceed with your booking.
