Use of 107 Redfern Street
At its meeting on 17 March 2025, Council resolved to prioritise local Aboriginal creative and cultural use of 107 Redfern Street.
Redfern is recognised as a significant place of Aboriginal life, resistance and self-determination, with an enduring history of community-led movements, cultural pride and leadership.
About the centre
The venue includes spaces for performances, workshops and collaboration between cultural and creative workers and local communities.
We’re inviting cultural and creative leaders, artists, knowledge holders and creative practitioners to apply for a space at 107 Redfern Street. We strongly encourage Aboriginal-led and community-controlled organisations and cultural practitioners to apply.
The short-term empty properties program will activate the building while we consult closely with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities about the future of the building. Our long-term aim is establish a sustainable, community-driven and led creative and cultural hub.
