Disclose a political donation or gift when you comment on an application
Offerings to City of Sydney councillors, their party, employees or contractors must be declared when commenting on a planning application.
When you need to do this
If you’re commenting on a development application, you must disclose any gifts or donations made to City of Sydney councillors, their party, employees or contractors within the past 2 years.
What you need to do

Download and complete a disclosure statement
Esure that all fields have been filled in correctly. Fields on this form marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory and must be completed.

Lodge with your submission
You can lodge the completed disclosure statement when providing comment.
This form should only be lodged as part of a comment about a specific matter to be considered.
Before you start
Gifts and donations offered at the time councillors were a candidate for election must be declared.
Donations or gifts given to employees or approved contractors must also be disclosed.
Reportable donations and gifts need to be disclosed if they were given by any person or entity making a public comment about an application.
Disclosing reportable donations and gifts covers the 2-year period before the application or comment was made, up until being determined by Council.
After you finish
We're required to retain the gift and donation disclosure statements made by people lodging public feedback about applications.
The disclosures can be made available to the public after an access to information request has been made under the Government Information (Public Access) Regulation 2009.
