Explore the LGBTIQA+ collection
Our Kings Cross, Newtown and Surry Hills libraries house our LGBTIQA+ collection.
Items are easily identified with a rainbow label on the spine of the item. Items are available for loan. You can reserve resources online and collect from your local branch.
Our collection
The LGBTIQA+ collection comprises books and DVDs, for all ages. It includes titles by LGBTIQA+ authors and creators, DVDs (movies, documentaries and television shows) and graphic novels.
The collection explores a wide range of topics including LGBTIQA+ parenting, growing up in rainbow households, sexual and gender identity, gender diverse relationships, art and design, history, politics, biographies and fiction.
The LGBTIQA+ collection was made possible with grant funding from the State Library of NSW in 2007.
Extending the collection
The LGBTIQA+ collection caters for the needs, interests and experiences of people of diverse sexualities and genders.
You will also find LGBTIQA+ materials and content throughout all the City of Sydney libraries. Note, not all LGBTIQA+ titles are categorised with the rainbow label.
You will also discover LGBTIQA+ content throughout our digital resources including ebooks, eaudio, emagazines and efilm.
