Large murals printed on billboards prompt contemplation and reflection.
Artist: Kristian Molloy
Artwork description
A series of murals contain short messaging to make you stop and question your current situation. Most billboards function to sell advertising products or promote political causes. These murals are about taking personal responsibility for individual thought. They're about engagement and communication.
Instead of presenting these ideas as art in conventional places such as galleries, they've been deliberately placed in normal advertising spots. Art in places of commerce, available for passing commuters to engage with, regardless of their age, race, gender or background.
The artworks were found on billboards at:
- Ultimo Road, Ultimo
- Harris Street, Pyrmont
- Wattle Street, Pyrmont
- Bridge Road, Glebe
- Burren and Albert streets, Macdonaldtown
- Wentworth Park Road, Glebe
- Regent Street, Redfern.
