Join the Sydney Lunar Festival community performance program

Your community group could perform indoors or on the streets by celebrating the Year of the Horse in 2026.

We’re inviting performers to be part of the Sydney Lunar Festival community performance program to help us celebrate the Year of the Horse in 2026.

Your group or performance must be from one of the cultures that observes Lunar New Year or the Year of the Horse.

Opportunities are available for different types of performances either on a stage or as a roving performance.

Sydney Lunar Festival 2026 will take place from 14 February to 1 March.

The Haymarket Institute will run the community performance program on behalf of the City of Sydney.

We don’t accept demonstrations or similar activities as part of the community performance program as there's no capacity to provide a venue.

If you do have a demonstration or other activity you would like to showcase, please contact us to see what other opportunities may be available in 2026.
