Sydney Park renewal projects
We’re rebuilding park entries and infrastructure, and carrying out landscaping works following the widening of Euston and Campbell roads.
Project Status: Completed
Work on the upgrade started in February 2023 and were completed in February 2024.
Why we’re doing this
Roads and Maritime Services widened Euston and Campbell roads to accommodate the WestConnex motorway. This road widening resulted in significant tree removals, demolished park facilities including public toilets and the wider access and features of the park.
These works are part of the Sydney Park improvement project. We continue to invest in this beautiful green space as it’s a vital recreation area, a place for the growing communities of Green Square, Erskineville and Alexandria to enjoy, relax, and play.
We invited your feedback on a review of environmental factors for this project in 2021.
What we’re doing
We’ll build new entry and frontage treatments along Euston and Campbell roads. The work will enhance the safety, functionality and features of the park boundary for people walking and riding bikes, and park visitors.
The upgrade includes:
- reconstructing park entries and infrastructure
- planting new trees and groundcover
- new barbecues and picnic settings
- new accessible toilet block.
