Upgrade works for Harry Noble Reserve Playground, Erskineville

Project Status: Planned

Why we’re doing this

We developed a concept plan for the playground upgrade based on your feedback from our consultation in late 2020.  We then modified the design and in mid 2021 asking the community for feedback. We used this feedback to refine the design, which Council approved on 26 July 2021.

What we’re doing

The upgrade includes:

  • 2 basketball half courts, a netball half court and goal circle practice area
  • a fenced toddler area with a tower and slides, deck and bridges, play elements and climbing challenges
  • a covered sandpit, boulders, stepping stones and an open cubby house
  • trampolines, an inclusive spinning carousel, a double swing with toddler cradle and seats, and a large basket swing
  • a nature play area and sensory precision play elements
  • a grassed area with mature trees and more plants
  • new tables, seats, a water bubbler, barbecue and sheltered picnic facilities.

We’re investigating:

  • adding more barbecues and picnic facilities and water bubblers
  • adding a dog off-leash area and more barrier walls next to the playground
  • more swings and the linking of paths to create trikes and scooter circuits
  • new table tennis tables
  • adding a pedestrian crossing or extending the kerb in the middle section of Fox Avenue to link Harry Noble Reserve and Erskineville Oval.
