This policy explains how we manage any paid, unpaid or volunteer work our employees do outside their City of Sydney role. It focuses on situations where that outside work is related to the City of Sydney’s business or could create a conflict with the employee’s duties.

The policy applies to all City of Sydney employees including:

  • full-time and part-time staff
  • casual and temporary workers
  • employees on fixed-term contracts.

When employees take on other work they must follow the rules in the Local Government Act 1993 and our code of conduct.
