Why we’re doing this
Greening Sydney outlined our strategic ambitions for greening our urban environment.
We’ve created a new community greening framework to encourage, support and guide activities that are safe and inclusive.
We’re making it easier to participate by clearly explaining requirements and responsibilities.
What we’re doing
We’re updating and expanding our policies and guidelines that support community gardens, footpath and laneway gardens, and related volunteer programs.
Our framework summarises community greening activities in the local area. It’s supported by the footpath and laneway gardens local approvals policy, which outlines how gardening can take place on verges, footpaths and laneways.
Three guidelines provide the information you need to participate in our programs.
