Proposal to heritage list 9 modern apartment buildings
These 9 modern apartment buildings have been selected for their heritage significance in Potts Point, Rushcutters Bay and Elizabeth Bay.
Open for feedback
Why we’re doing this
Potts Point, Elizabeth Bay and Rushcutters Bay boast a unique collection of apartment buildings constructed in the post war period (1945 to 1975). These buildings responded to changing demographics, construction techniques, legislation, and displayed new architectural styles.
The proposal to heritage list 9 ‘modern’ apartment buildings recognises this important period of residential development.
What we’re doing
We’re proposing to amend the Sydney Local Environmental Plan to list 9 buildings as local heritage items.
We contracted Godden Mackay Logan to independently assess the heritage significance of buildings in Potts Point, Elizabeth Bay and Rushcutters Bay. Their historic research and heritage assessment work found that these buildings have local heritage significance.
