Your say on proposed changes to outdoor dining
We’re asking for your feedback on our updated guidelines to make spaces more attractive and accessible for everyone.

Why we’re doing this
Outdoor dining is incredibly popular with our communities. We propose key changes to our outdoor dining program to make it easier for businesses to set up and use an outdoor dining area.
What we’re doing
The changes will help make it easier to:
- apply for outdoor dining permits
- use more footpath space for tables and chairs
- ensure clear paths of travel
- share unused footpath space with a neighbouring business
- add greenery with planter boxes.
We’re also developing a process for turning temporary on-street dining areas into permanent spaces.
