Why we’re doing this

We’re making an important connection to the bike network and providing a safe way for students to access Alexandria Park Community School.

What we’re doing

The project includes features to calm traffic and improve walking and riding, including:

  • a raised shared crossing on Fountain Street at Belmont Street
  • a separated cycleway on Belmont Street between Fountain Street and the shared path connection to Buckland Street
  • new garden beds
  • continuous footpath across Belmont Street west of Fountain Street.

Nine on-street parking spaces along Belmont and Fountain streets will be removed.

Next steps

After this consultation, we’ll consider all feedback and report the results to the Local Pedestrian, Cycling and Traffic Calming Committee. If the committee endorses the project, we will start work by the end of the year.
