What we’re doing
We plan to upgrade Green Park in Darlinghurst.
Based on your feedback from our consultation in 2024, we’ve developed a concept design for the space.
Park improvements:
- Add more seats throughout the park
- Install new lighting on main paths
- Maximise useable areas of the park including lawns
- Increase and improve garden areas
- Upgrade the pathway network.
AIDS Memorial Garden and bandstand:
- Build an AIDS Memorial Garden with seating near the bandstand
- Restore the bandstand to its original heritage form
- Add a staircase to improve access from the pathways to the bandstand.
All existing trees will be retained and protected.
Why we’re doing this
Over the next 10 years, we’ll upgrade more than 60 parks in our area, from small pocket parks to larger local parks.
We’re asking for feedback from local community groups and residents on the concept design. Tell us how you use the space, which aspects work well or fall short, and your ideas for its future.
How you can give feedback
Consultation closes at 5pm on Thursday 21 August 2025.
